Un-Khalas? (Unfinished?)

So... If this blog is your only window into our lives, you've probably been very worried about us for the last 14 months or so, and you probably ought to sit down before reading further.

Seated? Good? We've got a lot to catch up on.

Since we last updated the blog, we've taken several trips and moved.  I'll recap it here and maybe someday we'll write blog posts dedicated to these events. We had a great trip home for summer 2015, capping it off with a trip to London that Dave and Debi (Travis' parents) joined us on. Last October we went to Rome with our friends the Shenkirs and had lots of amazing pizza, pasta, coffee and wine. In November I took the girls home to spend time with my parents. As soon as I stepped off the plane Travis calls me to say, "I've accepted a job in The Woodlands". We spent the next two months preparing for the move, and in the middle of that went on a Christmas trip to Finland with our friends the Perrins and Prague with Travis' cousin Angi and her family. We had a whirlwind two weeks after that during which I did not have sufficient time to mentally prepare myself for our move home. We flew home January 15 and Travis started his new job Jan 18. We lived in an apartment for 6 weeks and moved into our house at the end of February.

Travis has enjoyed "corporate life" for the last 8 months: going to work and getting home at decent times,  dressing nice for work, driving a fun car, (mostly) avoiding work calls on nights and weekends... It has been a nice change of pace from the last nine years of Operations! But as is normally the case, once we get comfortable, God seems to find a way to shake things up.

LONG story short, Travis was presented with an "opportunity"... And WE ARE RETURNING TO SAUDI ARABIA!!! As unexpected as this may be to you, it was even more so to us! But we are excited. This is a great promotion opportunity for Travis, we still have good friends back at the compound, and heck- it's the home our girls know best! Trav will be heading out there by the end of September, and the girls and I will likely follow in late October or early November, whenever our visas are ready.

Crazy, huh? Oh, and did we mention Baby Boy Rogers is due in January of 2017? Look out, world...
